Dennis Hopper: Photographs 1961-1967

21 Feb

Besides being a pretty remarkable actor, Dennis Hopper was also a pretty accomplished photographer. But not your everyday photographer. He actually got to take pictures of the people that everyone else wishes they got to take pictures of. And he did it pretty damn well too. From snapping photos of Martin Luther King Jr to Andy Warhol. Tine Turner to Paul Newman. And all kinds of other celebrities, pop stars, entertainers, beautiful women and so on.

A new book exploring some of these photographs is being released, and it looks like it is going to be a pretty rad book.

From a selection of photographs compiled by Hopper and gallerist Tony Shafrazi—more than a third of them previously unpublished—this extensive volume distills the essence of Hopper’s brilliantly prodigious photographic career.
